As the saying goes, the good luck charms for any new bride are "something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue". Selecting Tag as Potter's "groom" encompasses all the charms a young bride needs.
Something old:Tag's sire, Boo, was incorporated into our home in 2006 with our BooBerry Litter and I could not be more pleased with the results of that 'marriage'. Boo is a producer of multi-arena titled get as well as many show Champions, some earning National recognition including Tag's litter sister, Dinah, who won Best of Breed at the 2008 Vizsla Nationals, following in the pawsteps of her grandparents, Belle & Hank. Something new: Tag's dam, Winnie, adds a whole new spice of life for us. Winnie's parents are the Vizsla Club of America National Specialty Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex winners from 1996. Her dam, Belle, is a multiple Best in Specialty Show winner. Belle had talent galore as well. She was a successful hunting companion, agility girl, and had obedience smarts. No matter what she did, she looked good doing it! Something borrowed: I am extremely honored that Tag's owners are allowing him to come visit Kentucky for a short while and have a small courtship with Potter. In a way I feel Potter herself will be borrowed for a small while, as she will return to Georgia this fall to get back to the field and her trainer, who has provided her with a second home. Something Blue: Tag is not a stranger to blue, or orange, or purple and gold. A Best In Specialty Show from 9 to 12 month puppy class at the Gateway Vizsla Club Specialty, owner-handled he also finished his Championship owner-handled. He is a BOB & BOS winner being very lightly specialed and spends hunting season in fashionable blaze orange hunting pheasant with his owners. Just like his grandam, Belle, no matter what Tag does...he looks good doing it!
Potter is quite a catch herself. Her father, Shooter, is an owner-handled Dual Champion passing along his history of looks, hunting ability, and sweet & biddable temperament handed down from his sire Pfalcon, grandsire Danny, dam Maggie, and many more notable Vizslas behind him. Potter's dam, Thyme, is the foundation for Red River and contributed fierce field ability, beauty, grace, and heart grabbing temperaments to all of her get and set the foundation for anything and everything her kids want to do. Thyme brings some of the most award winning field ability to the table with famous dogs like Jack Daniels & Danny, multiple Dual Champions such as Roddy, Karat, her sire Marty, and outstanding Registry of Merit producers such as Batea, Jack Daniels, Danny, & Dixie.
Potter finished her Championship with back-to-back majors at Supported entries then hit the field to become a Gundog. Her first season earned her a placement in a 20 starter OGD retrieving stake which kicked off a head-turning clean running streak in some highly competitive trials. She also earned her first Amateur Gun Dog Retrieving placement, breeder/owner handled in a 15 starter stake open to all pointing breeds. Potter has become an honest gundog with an entourage of fans. Running in trials as a "minority" with a dozen or more OGD braces, Potter is making famous, her affectionate moniker "Poo" and signature blaze pink collar. An entertainer on the stakeout and the apple of my eye, Potter has proven herself capable of mixing work and pleasure, beauty with birds, and just like Tag, whatever she does....she looks good doing it!!
